This project began when the client wanted a new family room.  We consulted with the client and our architect drew up the necessary code-compliant building plans to meet the client's needs.  This picture was taken prior to the beginning of construction.

Construction begins with excavation of the site.  In this case, the client desired a full basement under the addition, for storage, so the hole must be deep enough to accommodate this.

The foundation is constructed from 12 inch concrete block.   Foundations of this type may also be poured concrete using molds, but for this job is was more cost effective to use concrete block.

The roof is matched to the existing structure to ensure that the addition will always appear consistent with the original house. Window areas are also framed.

The roof is completed and is nearly an exact match to the one on the existing house.  The outside of the structure is wrapped with Tyvek, a weather barrier and the exterior trim work has been completed.
