| House before renovations
begin. The client desired a new kitchen, larger than their existing one. We
designed an addition and new kitchen, encompassing their desires. The deck shown
here will be re-designed and constructed in the process of the renovation. |

Construction begins by
demolishing the existing deck and moving the client's septic tank. The tank was too
close to the proposed addition and had to be moved. |

An engineered beam is set in place with a 5/8" steel plate sandwiched in between
it. This beam will support the 2nd floor of the house and facilitate a clean,
unobstructed space for the kitchen. Temporary support beams are shown behind
permanent beam. The existing kitchen remains as
intact as possible during the various phases of construction. At this time, the
sink, dishwasher, and all other appliances and fixtures are still operable, permitting the
homeowner to utilize these facilities |

the placement of this larger opening between the two rooms. It was one of the
client's goals to better integrate the two spaces. |

growth forest wood. This area will contain a small bar for entertaining. |
