House before renovations begin.  This house will be completely redesigned, rebuilt and expanded over the course of construction.   With the exception of a few rooms, the entire home will appear vastly different and larger.

Construction begins by demolishing the interior parts of the home, in this case, the former family room.   Sheetrock and insulation are removed, electrical wiring and plumbing mechanicals are shut down.

Two layers of siding, vinyl and wood are stripped from the structure.  New cedar clapboard siding will be installed before the project is completed.

The outside of house is completely stripped of siding and ready for new windows, new siding and framing changes and enhancements.

Basic structural framing is complete and new windows have begun to be installed.  Tarps are used on the roof to keep rain out until the final roofing shingles are installed.

What was an open porch is transformed into a bedroom area.  The garage has been fitted with new windows, as will the entire house.  The gable roof is simply a decorative element to match the larger roof on the main part of the structure.

New windows have been installed on home.  Work also progresses on the entrance porch.   This porch will make the entire structure seem much more elegant and dramatic.

The furnace chimney is reconstructed here in brick.  Its former condition was concrete block, dull and unattractive.  The new brick will also match a new brick fireplace being installed.

Interior framing of the 2nd floor of the house.  A new bedroom, bathroom and office, with cathedral ceilings will be a vast improvement on the master bedroom area of the former home.

Zero clearance fireplace is being installed in the dining room area.  A nice alternative to the traditional fireplace,  both in terms of cost of space efficiency.  It will be a nice compliment to the brick fireplace being installed in the living room  (see next picture).

After having a structural foundation pored, a brick fireplace is being installed.

Exterior of home is taking shape.  All new windows have been installed, the roof is nearly complete, as is the front porch area.  The exterior of the house is covered with Tyvec house wrap for energy efficiency.
